Community Events
Official Song of Bonita!
On Jan. 25, the song "Home in Bonita" written by Ella Aldridge was performed at the Bonita Museum and Cultural Center, and was named the Official Song of Bonita. The song was originally written by Ella for the 2024 BonitaFest Melodrama (which is produced each year by Dr. Max Branscomb--an advisor/collaborator of Ella's since she was 9 years old). In attendance at Saturday's performance were Mayor John McCann, former Supervisor Greg Cox, former conductor of the San Diego Symphony Jahja Ling, Jeff Bettger, Miss Bonita Alicia Montano, Miss Chula Vista Isabel Caballero, Andrea Elam, and many more. Jeff Bettger has proudly served the Bonita and Chula Vista area as a real estate agent for the past 24 years. www.JeffBettger.com He considers himself lucky to have raised his daughter and son here. Prior to his real estate career, Jeff was a professor of special education at SFSU and UC Berkeley, following post-doctoral research at the Salk Institute in La Jolla. With his heart always in education, Jeff sits on the Board of Directors for the Southwestern College Foundation. Jeff is also a long-time member of the Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce where he participates in the Education Committee and has led their Leadership Program.

Our Graphics Designer
We are lucky to have Kim Skulavik as our team graphics designer. She will give the magazine its classy feel and create the advertisements for our local business partners. Kim is also the owner of Toucan Play. Her business provides fun activities and playground space for children under the age of 5. Parents can drop off their children while they run errands or just take some time for themselves. Birthday parties also available.
