The BonitaFest Melodrama "Thin Skins & Hayseeds" was wonderful! As the audience entered, we were entertained by the singing/songwriting of the incomparable Keiler Avery. The rest of the evening was a similar joy! A superior band, wonderfully-written music, beautiful singing and convincing acting. The script is charming, funny, poignant, heart-wrenching and an historical tribute to the Great Sweetwater Valley Flood of 1916 when a 17-foot wall of water raced through the Valley, wiping out everything in its path. The production is everything you could want from community theater and more! Be forewarned, as you walk to your car, you will still be humming an infectious tune about a horse! Special credit to writer/director/composer Dr. Max Branscomb. This year marks the 47th Annual Bonitafest Melodrama--SanDiego County's longest-running theatre production! The acting cast--Alexis Luna, Brissamar Aurora Luna,Trevor Braaten,Caleigh Jean Miller, Dalia Candelario, Tanya Carr, Donovan Hash, Ella Aldridge, Estrella Alexia Luna, Evelyn Sugapong, Isla Hobson, Kaede Muller, Keira Sugapong, Lorenzo Malatag, Mackenzie Koeppen, Malachi Antony Veglia, Randall Phillips, Rose Ingram, Sofia Petroulias, Syara Platero and Timothy Paul Evans. The band--Ken Santillan, Patrick Noyes, Kieler Avery and Karl Muller.
